Advisory Board

The Caribbean Student Support Network is guided by an advisory board of dedicated study abroad professionals who share their ideology of ethical education.

Jennifer Thomas Stark

Jennifer Thomas-Starck has served as the Director of International Study at Wellesley College since 2004. In this capacity, she oversees the college’s semester- and year-long study programs and supports short term faculty led programs, and student and faculty bilateral exchanges. Prior to joining Wellesley College, Jennifer managed Boston College’s international programs and partnerships and also served for several years as on-site coordinator for Boston College’s study abroad program in Strasbourg, France. She holds an MA in French Literature from Boston College and a BA in Foreign Languages from Rhodes College (Memphis).

Janna Behrens

Janna Behrens is the Associate Dean/Director of Global Education at Amherst College. She works with students, faculty and study away programs to identify and promote the programs that fit Amherst students’ curricular and personal needs and goals. Prior to working at Amherst, she worked at Tufts University in their study abroad office. She started her career in international education as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ghana, which was followed by a stint working as a recruiter on college campuses for the Peace Corps. She has a love of living and learning new languages and cultures around the world.

Christine Wintersteen

Christine Wintersteen is the Director of Off Campus Study Away and International Programs at Bowdoin College. Christine has been working in the field of international education since 1998, first with a program provider managing study abroad programs in Latin America and the Caribbean, and then joined the OCS office in 2009. Originally from Vermont, she earned her B.A. from Beloit College in Wisconsin and an M.A. degree in Latin American and Caribbean Studies from New York University. She has studied abroad in Ecuador, Costa Rica, and Brazil and has traveled extensively throughout Latin America, the Caribbean, and Europe.
